Jonker Street, officially Jalan Hang Jebat, runs through the heart of Melaka’s Chinatown and is one of the city’s most famous streets. By day, it’s lined with antique shops, art galleries, and cosy cafés housed in colourful Peranakan shophouses. You can explore everything from vintage collectibles to handmade crafts and local snacks.

In the evenings, especially on weekends, Jonker Street transforms into the bustling Jonker Night Market, filled with lights, music, and street food. Even outside market hours, it’s worth visiting for its atmosphere and heritage charm. Go early in the morning for a quiet stroll, or come after dark for the full Melaka vibe.
