Dataran Lang, also known as Eagle Square, is one of Langkawi’s most recognizable landmarks. The massive 12-meter-tall eagle statue appears poised for flight, symbolizing the island’s name — “Langkawi” comes from helang, meaning eagle in Malay. Set against the backdrop of Kuah Bay, it’s a popular spot for photos, especially at sunrise or sunset when the light hits the statue and water perfectly.

The square is surrounded by landscaped gardens, fountains, and waterfront walkways, making it a pleasant place for a short stroll. It’s easily accessible from Kuah town and especially beautiful in the evening when the area is softly lit and the air is cooler.
