The Rainforest Discovery Centre, or RDC, is a premier environmental education and wildlife observation site located in Sepilok, Sabah. Surrounded by lush lowland rainforest, it features a canopy walkway high above the trees, nature trails, and observation towers ideal for spotting birds like hornbills and kingfishers. Informative exhibits also explain the unique ecology of Borneo’s forests.

It’s best visited early morning or late afternoon when wildlife is most active. Bring binoculars, insect repellent, and water — the trails are well-maintained but can be warm and humid. The RDC pairs perfectly with visits to the nearby orangutan and sun bear centres.

We went alone during the day and didn't see much. Later we took the night safari with a guide, and he was able to show us so many animals, from orangutans, to flying squirrels and scorpions.
