From Ipanema Beach, if you look to your left, you will see a large rock that marks the end of the beach. That is Arpoador.

The beach right under the rocks is called Arpoador Beach. If we are being technical about it, it is technically still part of Ipanema Beach because there aren’t any clear divisions, but here in Rio, everyone knows that little part as Arpoador Beach.

Arpoador is widely known as the best spot in town to watch the sunset. I highly recommend going there at least once during your trip to Rio, because the views are truly unbeatable!
