Founded in the Hellenistic period and later flourishing under Roman rule, Olympos was once an important Lycian port city. Today, visitors can walk through overgrown stone streets, explore remnants of temples, baths, a theater, and see ancient Lycian tombs scattered along the riverside.

One of the highlights is that after exploring the ruins, you can continue directly to Olympos Beach for a swim. The area is also close to the famous eternal flames of Yanartaş (Chimaera), which can be visited at sunset.

Accommodation in Olympos is known for its wooden treehouse pensions, bungalows, and budget-friendly guesthouses, attracting backpackers and nature lovers. Small riverside cafés and casual restaurants serve simple local dishes in a relaxed setting.
