Church of St. Nicholas, is one of the most important Christian pilgrimage sites in Turkey. Built in the 6th century, the church stands in the ancient city of Myra (modern-day Demre) and is dedicated to Saint Nicholas the historical figure who later inspired the legend of Santa Claus. Inside, visitors can see well-preserved frescoes, stone sarcophagi, and the ornate tomb believed to have belonged to Saint Nicholas.

The site attracts both religious pilgrims and history enthusiasts from around the world. Its spiritual atmosphere, combined with its historical significance, makes it one of Demre’s most meaningful cultural landmarks.
