Yivli Minare is one of the most iconic landmarks of Antalya and the city’s symbol. Built in the 13th century during the Seljuk period, its distinctive fluted (grooved) brick structure gives the minaret its name, which means “Fluted Minaret.”
Rising above Kaleiçi, the 38-meter-high tower is part of a larger religious complex that once included a mosque, madrasah, and bath. The red brick design and turquoise tile details reflect classic Seljuk architecture and craftsmanship.
Today, the mosque is still active, and visitors can explore the surrounding courtyard and nearby historic buildings. The area around Yivli Minaret is lively, filled with small shops, local restaurants, and cultural spots, all within walking distance of the Clock Tower and Hadrian’s Gate.
