Patara Beach stretches for about 18 kilometers, making it one of the longest sandy beaches in Turkey. It’s also a protected nesting site for caretta caretta sea turtles, which adds to its ecological importance.

Just behind the beach lies Patara Ancient City, once a major Lycian port and the birthplace of Saint Nicholas. You can explore the grand Roman theater, ancient parliament building (considered one of the earliest examples of a democratic assembly hall), colonnaded streets, and old harbor remains.

Activities include swimming, walking through the dunes at sunset, photography, and exploring the archaeological site. Unlike large resort areas, accommodation in Patara village consists of boutique hotels, small pensions, and family-run guesthouses, creating a relaxed and authentic atmosphere.
