Hadrian’s Gate, is one of the most impressive Roman structures in Antalya and the ceremonial entrance to Kaleiçi (Old Town).
Built in 130 AD to honor the visit of Roman Emperor Hadrian, the monument features three elegant marble arches supported by richly decorated Corinthian columns. The detailed carvings and well-preserved structure make it one of the finest surviving Roman gates in Turkey. If you look carefully at the ground, you can still see the original ancient road beneath your feet.
The gate marks the transition from modern Antalya into the cobblestone streets of Kaleiçi. From here, you can explore historic mansions, boutique hotels, art galleries, and charming souvenir shops.
The surrounding area is lively, filled with cafés, ice cream shops, traditional restaurants, and small courtyards where you can sit and relax. It’s also a perfect photo spot, especially in the soft light of the late afternoon.
