The Leidsee is a small mountain lake in the municipality of Erstfeld in Uri. It lies at an altitude of 2271 metres above sea level in a hollow. Just south of the lake is the Leidsee Pass, which acts as a passage from the Erstfeldertal to the Leutschachtal.
This hike is a T4/5 and therefore you need to be an experienced hiker and free of vertigo. The ascent is demanding but the view on top are so incredibly beautiful and like from another planet. You can reach the lake from Arnisee-Nidersee-Leutschachhütte and the same way back or continue further to Kröntenhütte.
Distance: 14km Duration: 5:30h Ascent: 1'126m Descent: 1'126m
Photography Tipps: Once you reach the top keep to the left and there you'll get a fantastic view of the lake and the majestic mountain in the background. There you can try various compositions by going further left and down towards the lake.
