Firehole Spring is only about a 15-minute drive from Old Faithful, and depending on the season, you can cruise the full loop by car. When we visited in late September, the road was closed so we explored it on foot instead.

The spring itself is stunning, with vibrant blue water and mesmerizing bubbles rising straight from the earth. The whole area is packed with geothermal features, so every few steps brings something new and fascinating into view. Keep an eye out for wildlife and remember to give any animals plenty of space.

We wandered all the way up to Great Fountain Geyser before turning back. It was the perfect leg stretching walk and a peaceful with minimal others on the trail.
