Vibe: A chill, no frills, beachfront resort.

What it’s really like:

Uprising has a great chill vibe where you can find a spot for yourself or mingle with others. It's not fancy, but more homely and relaxed.

They serve good food in the restaurant, and have a large bar. They often have live music or entertainment for guests, as well as music and sports festivals.

It's an affordable place, close to shops and the Pacific Arts Village.

I stayed in a beachfront room, but you can't actually see the beach, as there is a small grassy mound to protect you from the wind and weather. This creates a great private spot for relaxing or playing in the sun.

They have kayaks and equipment to use as well.

I last stayed here in April 2024.
