Description:
Stokksnes is a stunning headland on Iceland’s southeast coast, best known for its sweeping black sand dunes, tidal lagoons, and incredible views of the dramatic Vestrahorn mountain. The area feels wild and cinematic, especially when the mountains reflect in the shallow pools of the beach. Stokksnes is also home to a Viking village film set that was built for a movie but never taken down — today, it’s a unique place to explore and photograph. Many travelers visit Stokksnes at sunrise or sunset for the most beautiful light and to capture one of Iceland’s most iconic landscapes.

Price:
Stokksnes is on private land, and access requires a small entrance fee of about 900 ISK ($6–7 USD) per person, paid at the Viking Café near the entrance. Parking is included in the ticket price. Guided tours that include Stokksnes and the Eastfjords typically cost $120–180 USD per person.
