Corgarff Castle, located in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, has a pretty eventful history. Built in the 16th century by the Elphinstone family, it was burned down in 1571 by their enemies, resulting in some tragic casualties. Over the years, it saw various uses, from being a military barracks to suppressing illegal whisky distilling. Now under the care of Historic Environment Scotland, this castle is open to the public and offers a glimpse into its intriguing past.
