I discovered Limited to One by chance when strolling through the streets of the East Village one weekend and wow, it’s the best record store I’ve ever set foot in. Filled with punk rock, diy emo, pop punk, hardcore and hip- hop it’s definitely a one-of-a-kind establishment, which specialises in rare limited vinyl and cassettes for alternative music enthusiasts.

The store opened on East 10th Street in 2017 and has become a destination shop for New York’s contemporary music lovers.

Located at sub street level, head down the iron staircase and find their highly curated modern underground basement, where extremely rare records hang on the walls along with limited pressings from their collection.

Crate dig your way through their vinyl A-Z index and be amazed by what you can find. Each time I’ve visited I’ve picked up a vinyl that I didn’t even know existed from bands like The Wonder Years, Into It. Over it., Koji, Tiny Moving Parts and Transit. They also carry a lot of punk and hardcore such as first pressings of Black Flag, Jawbreaker and Converge.

Honestly their stock is remarkable and their owner Kristian makes the shop truly great, taking a real interest in his customers and making you feel instantly welcome. He’s extremely knowledgeable about his inventory and more than happy to have a chat, he even recommended some local gigs which were coming up, which led me to see what is now one of my favourite bands – ‘Iron Chic’ play live at Brooklyn Bazaar and Jawbreaker at Brooklyn Steel.

A wonderful bricks and mortar record store which carries the torch for scarce vinyl and cassette collecting, with a strong sense of community spirit and character in tow.
