The Three Sisters and Elephant Rock are located on the way to New Plymouth. This immense black-sand beach is a great place to take a drive break, but also a destination in itself with its photogenic rocks. Keep in mind that the statues are only accessible at low tide. The walk from the car park takes about 20 minutes along the river over sand and some slippery, muddy sections, but it is definitely worth the view! You can even spot Mt. Taranaki in between the Sister rocks!
