The Wairakei Terraces are a geothermal attraction near Lake Taupō, known for their striking silica formations and steaming mineral pools. Inspired by the famous Pink and White Terraces that were destroyed in 1886, these terraces recreate a similar layered appearance formed by mineral rich thermal waters.
