The site of an old fire lookout, the Little Beehive offers stunning views over Lake Louise and the Bow Valley.

To reach it, first hike to popular Lake Agnes. It is uphill all the way from the Lake Louise shoreline, with the long switchback route also passing Mirror Lake.

Surrounded by rugged mountains, Lake Agnes is very pretty and also has a quaint Teahouse (bring cash). After Lake Agnes, you'll leave 80% of other visitors behind. It's only 1km extra to the Little Beehive lookout but, again, it is uphill all the way.

The total distance is 8.8km with 490m elevation gain. Intermediate hikers should allow around 3 to 3.5 hours. Consider extending this hike with a summit of nearby Mount Saint Piran or connect to the Plain of Six Glaciers Trail via the Highline Trail.

A Parks Canada parks pass is required to explore Banff National Park - $22/day for a vehicle of up to 7 people. To reach Lake Louise, you'll need to pay for parking $36.75, use the Parks Canada shuttle bus ($8/person), ROAM Transit 8x bus ($10) or book a private shuttle.
