The Glacier Crest Trail is a tough yet rewarding all day hike in Glacier National Park. The destination of this challenging trail is the top of a naturally carved ridge, with the Illecillewaet Glacier on one side and the Asulkan Glacier on the other, both surrounded by huge mountain peaks. The views are truly spectacular!

The hike is 11.4km return with 960m elevation gain, most of the latter being climbed within a short 3.7km distance. The incline is around 25-30% (super steep!)

This is a summer hike only, with the trail usually snow-free from late July to late September, dependent on weather and snowfall.
A Parks Canada parks pass is required to hike the Glacier Crest Trail ($22/day for a vehicle with up to 7 people).
