Message from Gemma, Off Track Travel

The Golden Municipal Campground is a convenient place to stop in this region. There isn't a huge amount of choice regarding camping options in Golden for travellers who are unable to go on unpaved roads.

The riverside location of this campground is great, but note that there is a railway line very close by. Trains pass through every 2 hours or so, sometimes more often. They can and do blow the horn at night! Obviously, the noise is less of an issue for people in RVs.
