The best way to explore the ice of the Athabasca Glacier is to take a guided walking tour with IceWalks. They offer three different tours - half day (5km distance), full day (8.5km) and an Indigenous tour (5km, led by an Indigenous guide).

All of the tours are led by professional ACMG certified guides and you will have a chance to walk on the ice and see deep crevasses and waterfalls. This is a much more low impact tour than the ones with vehicles.
