Diamond Beach, known in Icelandic as "Breiðamerkursandur," is a stunning and unique location on the southeastern coast of Iceland

Location: Diamond Beach is situated adjacent to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, along the Ring Road (Route 1) in southeast Iceland. It is approximately 370 kilometers (230 miles) east of Reykjavik.

Accessibility: The beach is easily accessible by car.

Icebergs on the Beach: Diamond Beach gets its name from the large chunks of ice that wash ashore from Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. These icebergs are remnants of the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, which break off and float through the lagoon before being carried out to sea and eventually deposited on the black sand beach.

Best Time to Visit: Diamond Beach can be visited year-round, but during summer you might not find many diamonds on the beach. If you plan to avoid the crowds you should visit in the morning

Facilities: The nearby Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon has a visitor center with restrooms, a café, and information about the area. There are no facilities directly on Diamond Beach itself.
