Klifbrekkufossar, also known as the Seven-Tier Waterfall, is a hidden gem in east Iceland that boasts stunning natural beauty. Due to its remote location, Klifbrekku Waterfall is less visited compared to other more accessible waterfalls in Iceland.

Location: Klifbrekku Waterfall is situated in Mjóifjörður, one of the most scenic and remote fjords in eastern Iceland. The fjord is known for its dramatic landscapes and serene environment.

Accessibility: To reach Klifbrekku Waterfall, visitors typically drive on Route 953, which is a gravel road that runs along Mjóifjörður. This road is often closed in winter due to snow and can be challenging to drive, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. The nearest town is Egilsstaðir, approximately 45 kilometers (28 miles) away.

Hiking and Exploration: There are no formal hiking trails to Klifbrekku Waterfall, but visitors can explore the area around the falls by foot. The terrain can be uneven and steep, so appropriate footwear is recommended.

Best Time to Visit: The best time to visit Klifbrekku Waterfall is during the summer months (June to August) when the road to Mjóifjörður is open and the weather is milder.

Facilities: There are no facilities at Klifbrekku Waterfall. Visitors should come prepared with food, water, and other essentials. The nearest services are in the town of Egilsstaðir.
