Along the Bay of the Somme lies Saint-Valery-sur-Somme. The village sits at the end of the line – literally. From the small station by the water, an old steam train departs toward Le Crotoy and Cayeux. It's not a tourist gimmick with fake whistles, but a real working locomotive. It looks like a model railway straight out of the box. The ride offers great views of the landscape and across the Baie de Somme.

🕒 Best time to go: spring or early autumn – fewer crowds, softer light, and the train runs regularly.
💡 Tip: sit on the left side when heading to Le Crotoy for the best views over the bay.
