The Grünten marks the beginning of the Allgäuer Alps and is often called their guardian. The summit can be reached via several paths (around 800 meters of the altitude), with the last steep ascent requiring at least a medium level of fitness. At the summit plateau, you’ll find a prominent radio antenna visible from afar and a war memorial.

The flat summit plateau offers a perfect photo spot to linger and capture the scene. A wide-angle lens is recommended to fully frame the antenna and monument.
