Skyggnisvatn is a stunning crater lake in the central Highlands. What makes this crater lake unique though is that the waters of the lake meet the glacial river and the water colors are so different.
To photograph this cool spot you will need a drone. Drive past the Ljótipollur view point until you reach the end of the road. From there, send your drone the rest of the way.
Safety concerns: The road leading to this place can be challenging. Go slow and gentle. It is best to drive here with a 4x4. The road here may also be closed in winter. Be sure to check road conditions and closures at road.is.
