This is one of the most picturesque towns on Madeira, offering a charming atmosphere and several captivating viewpoints that make it a must-visit on your Madeira itinerary. Begin your visit by exploring the area around the harbor, where you’ll often see many colorful boats docked. These boats create an interesting subject for photography, especially when photographed towards the east.

After exploring the center of Câmara de Lobos, head to the left side of the harbour to check out the view from a viewpoint atop the cliffs, visible in the background. Following this narrow street will lead you to the promenade towards Formosa Beach. Shortly, you’ll reach swimming pools that offer a unique view of Câmara de Lobos with the road leading into town. This is our favourite lookout point in Câmara de Lobos. Next, head to the other side of the harbor and climb the stairs to another viewpoint, Salão Ideal. From here, you can see Câmara de Lobos on one side and the tallest cliff in Europe, Cabo Girão, on the other.
