If you're skipping out on a Europe trip don't worry because you can visit Monsalvat instead, a beautiful venue with grounds that make you feel like you’ve escaped to Europe but you’re actually very much still in Melbourne and it doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg to get there (a small entry fee)!

Established in 1934, Montsalvat is largely inspired by the provincial medieval architecture of the French villages and the great Gothic cathedrals of France and Spain. It is Australia’s oldest continuous artist colony with over 20 studios across the grounds, you can peer into the windows of these stunning buildings and see artists at work!

How to get there:

It's located in Eltham, 40 minutes from Melbourne CBD, tucked away in suburbia off Hillcrest Ave. Montsalvat is open 10am - 4pm from Wednesday to Sunday.

Elise's Tips:

Make sure you take your time exploring the entire gardens and buildings, you never know what you'll find in the small corners of this 5 acre property, there's so many picturesque photo spots that will have you feeling like a princess.
