Pink Lake, also known as Lake Lochiel, is a small circular salt lake, only a 10 minute drive from Dimboola along the Western Highway. The Pink Lake gets its vibrant colour from a salt tolerant alga living in the salt crust and is a truly incredible spectacle when its at its prime colouring - its distinctive pink colour varies in brightness depending on rainfall levels. I visited in November on a sunny day after recent rainfall.
