The Carnavalet Museum is one of the most important institutions in Paris. It’s the official History Museum of the city that houses more than 600.000 objects, from rare paintings to items that once belonged to Napoleon. The building is a historic monument from the 16th century and contains furnished rooms from different periods of Paris's history. It features works by artists including Joos Van Cleve, Frans Pourbus the Younger, Jacques-Louis David, Hippolyte Lecomte, François Gérard, Louis-Léopold Boilly, and Étienne Aubry.
