Shiroyone Senmaida Rice Terraces offer a stunning landscape that looks out over the Sea of Japan. This nationally designated "Special Place of Scenic Beauty" is made up of 1,004 small rice paddies, and is best known for its beautiful tiered rice terraces. Visitors can witness traditional methods of planting these paddies by hand, as well as admire the spectacular night views during winter when the fields are lit up with LED lights. The nearby salt farm, Okunoto Endenmura is also worth exploring! Whether you're looking to discover traditional farming techniques or witness stirring night views, Shiroyone Senmaida Rice Terraces is a must-visit destination.
