Located in the Bay of Plenty region, the Tarawera Falls Track is a 700-metre return walk with breathtaking views of the Tarawera River. This track runs from Waterfall Road carpark to a spectacular magma-filled cliff face where water surges out of fissures in the cliff. Along the way, you will get to experience the unparalleled beauty of native plants and birds, as well as the unique ecosystem created by its volcanic past. With just a 20-minute one-way walk, this path is perfect for any level of hiker looking to enjoy an easy nature adventure and grab an amazing photo.

You'll need to get a permit to access Tarawera Falls carpark - this can be obtained from the Kawerau isite Visitor Information Centre.

Photography info: Use your wide angle at this location to capture the entire scene and if you have ND filters bring them to smooth out the water.
