Near the iconic Glenorchy Wharf in Queenstown lies another little icon - the ever charming and picturesque Glenorchy Boat Shed.

Standing proudly against the backdrop of the majestic Southern Alps, this historic little red boat shed embodies a rustic allure to it and has become quite famous with visitors to Glenorchy, especially photographers.

I personally have only ever taken photos of it during the day but it would be beautifully lit at sunrise with the golden light coming from behind and hitting the shed. It has also become a popular astro photography location with the milkway core visible during winter time.

Take your wide angle lens (16-35mm) with you for this one.
