Stokksnes is one of our fave spots. There are black sand dunes and a small staged "Viking village" on private land, so there is a $10 entrance fee and basic parking rather than big visitor facilities. The access road is mostly gravel and is fine in a regular car, and sunrise or sunset will give you the best light and mirror-like reflections if the sea is calm, so plan your timing and arrive early to beat the crowds.
