Bankalar Caddesi, also known as Voyvoda Caddesi, is a historic street located in the Galata quarter of Beyoğlu (Pera) in Istanbul, Turkey. The street has been dubbed the financial centre of the late Ottoman Empire and is home to a number of 19th-century buildings that have been preserved into the 21st century. It features numerous attractions such as the Camondo Steps, a curvaceous neo-baroque staircase, and the Genoese Palace (1316), built by Montano de Marinis, the Podestà of Galata. Along Bankalar Caddesi you will find many historic banks, financial institutions, and insurance companies. In recent years the street has increasingly become a hub for tourism with many of its old building being converted into hotels, restaurants, and cultural centres.

It's a grand and beautiful street to wander.
