River Teme Paddling Spot at The Fold – Nature, Nets & Coffee Breaks
This spot at The Fold in Bransford is such a little gem for a sunny-day explore. You’ve got a peaceful paddling spot on the River Teme, a café with very good cake, an organic farm shop, and loads of space for the kids to roam. What more do you need?
How to Find It:
From the car park, head right out the gate and follow the gravel track all the way down to the wooden gate. Turn left there and walk around the lake fence until the path splits; there’s a rope swing on the right (which the kids will 100% spot), but go straight ahead/left at the fork to reach the river opening. You’ll know you’re in the right place when it feels a bit magical. Exact spot: ///whisker.digests.submerged

🐟 What’s There?
The kids were obsessed with catching tiny fish and larvae in tubs with nets (bring your own). It’s shallow and clear enough for proper splashing about. There’s even space to perch for a snack while they play.
🛞 Buggy Notes:
You could bring a buggy, but it’s a bit bumpy and the slope down to the river is steep-ish. Carrier or tough-wheeled stroller might be best if you’ve got smaller ones in tow.
✅ Good to Know:
Free parking
Lovely café for drinks, lunch or cake (indoor & outdoor seating)
Organic farm shop on site
Toilets available
Dog-friendly
Picnic-perfect
Great for a low-key adventure with just enough wild and muddy to make it feel like you’ve had a proper escape without needing to pack for a full expedition.
