Hjörleifshöfði Hellir is a historical promontory located in South-Iceland, 221 meters high and majestic over the black glacial volcanic outwash, Mýrdalssandur. It was named after Viking settler Hjörleifur Hróðmarsson, who set up his farm at Bæjarstaður before it was destroyed by a glacial outburst from Mt. Katla in 1721. It was featured in the Hollywood movie 'Star Wars: Rogue One'. Wonder why?
