The yellow baroque facade on Odeonsplatz

The bright yellow baroque church facing Odeonsplatz, with twin bell towers and a green dome — one of the most photographed buildings in Munich. Italian High Baroque inside: brilliant white stucco, intricate detailing, soaring domes. Free to enter, much quieter than the Frauenkirche. The yellow facade is best photographed late afternoon when the western light hits it. From here you're 30 seconds from Odeonsplatz, the Hofgarten royal garden, the Munich Residence, and the start of Maximilianstraße. Combine with Café Luitpold (one block away) for a perfect mid-day pause.
