What you’ll do

Of course, a weekend is far from enough to fully explore São Miguel, and you have to realize that in just a couple of days, you’ll only see the main spots, with little time to relax, swim, or go hiking.

But we don’t always have the luxury of spending as much time as we’d like in one place, so even a few days is better than nothing.

That’s exactly why I’ve created this itinerary for you.

On the first day, I suggest heading to the Lagoa do Fogo area. After checking into your hotel, visit the viewpoints around Lagoa do Fogo, and then you can either relax in the hot springs and explore a nearby parks and waterfalls. The itinerary assumes you’re staying in Ponta Delgada, but feel free to choose any hotel that suits your taste. In the evening, enjoy dinner at one of the restaurants in Ponta Delgada.
