This is a narrow, 80-metre-high chasm in the West Macs, famous for its tall orange walls that light up when the sun hits them from above.

It’s the only place in the Red Centre where we’d actually tell you to go around midday. The overhead sun makes the chasm practically glow, it’s beautiful and 100% worth the heat.

We went in high season and the chasm was pretty full of people, but still worth it. You can manage to get some cool photos even if the place is packed.

The walk in is easy and short, through a surprisingly green trail before you reach the narrow chasm.

There’s also a campsite with powered and unpowered sites, too. It’s a handy base for the West Macs!

Back when we visited, you had to pay the camping fee at the café, but now it seems like you can purchase it online
