This is a great spot for history buffs!

It’s a massive boab tree marked by explorer Augustus Charles Gregory during the North Australia Expedition in the 1800s.

It’s also an Aboriginal sacred site and a registered heritage site, so please visit it respectfully.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • A quick historical stop inside a much larger national park

  • Basic park facilities, toilets, picnic areas and fire pits

  • Croc country, no swimming in the waterways

TO ACCESS

  • Entry fee applies for Judbarra/Gregory National Park

  • Access from the highway is unsealed last time we went, but should be doable in 2WD if weather is good
