Hvíthamr is basically the mountain on top of the village Funningur.

The easiest way to get there is when you are driving on the way to the village Gjógv, just before you start the descent of the mountain you park the car where there is a kind of a small parking area. There is a small stairs, just climb it and walk straight until you arrive at the edge. The hike takes only 20 minutes. The view is amazing. you will see the village beneath surrounded by mountains and fjord. You can also go all the way up the summit, but be careful if you go on a windy day. The view is just incredible from up there. The hike will just take you about an hour and 30 minutes in all.
