Ponta do Tristão, located at the northernmost point of Madeira, offers stunning views of rugged cliffs and crashing waves. This spot is perfect for a relaxed evening with breathtaking views of the ocean and the setting sun. At least if you don't mind steep cliffs and heights.

One of the best ways to enjoy Ponta do Tristão is by having a picnic, a tradition we picked up from the locals who love spending time in nature. Pack your favorite snacks, a blanket, and maybe a bottle of wine.

As you settle in, watch the sky change colors, creating a beautiful backdrop for your picnic. It’s a simple, magical experience, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. It is also a great place for an instagram photo, just saying :D

Don't stay until it is completely dark, as this is absolutely a dangerous walk in the dark. It is very steep but manageable if you are adventurous.

The sunset is perfect here from June until September.

OBS: As we always say, remember the holy trinity of safety: proper shoes and gear, good insurance, and common sense. When hiking walking those five minutes from the car to the spot, it is important since the narrow path here is located on a cliff with a very Steep decent. Enjoy!
