Skiing in Vassilitsa ⛷ skiing in Greece is definitely a thing and I’m glad people finally realize this side of Greece ☺️ Vassilitsa is one of the best ski resorts in Greece, at least that’s what experienced skiers in Greece say ❄️ For skiing and snowboarding, there are 22 km of slopes available. 7 lifts transport the guests. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 1,642 and 2,110 m.

Nestled on the slopes of Mt Vassilitsa, the ski resort lies on the borders of Western Macedonia region and Epirus. There’s nothing but snow-capped mountains peaks around you: mountains Smolikas and Timfi showing off their raw beauty 🏔 it really feels like you’re in the Alps!

Tip: do combine with an epic road trip in places such as the following: Samarina, Perivoli, Grevena, Vovoussa. Also, the nearest airports are Ioannina and Thessaloníki. You’ll need to rent a car from either cities and drive for 2-2,5 hours. If you fly to Thessaloníki, you can also take the ski bus for a day trip to Vassilitsa!

There’s plenty of snow right now all across the Greek mountains, from the Rodopi mountain range to the Psiloritis mountain in Crete. Ski centers in Greece usually operate until the beginnings of April. Sometimes even until mid-April, depending on the snow conditions. Let’s make the most out of this snow-plenty season!
