This gondola brings you to the Hochstuckli mountain resort at Mostelberg (1200m). The individual gondola cars rotate slowly as you ascend the mountain so you can see the view from all sides.

At the top, you'll find a big outdoor amusement center with bouncy castles, summer toboggan, suspension bridge, restaurants and mountain hiking trails.

You can bring strollers and wheelchairs on the gondola. Bikes and dogs are welcome for a fee.

Location

The Hochstuckli cable car is located at in Sattel, southeast of Lucerne.

By car: Drive to Eumatt 1, 6417 Sattel and park in the large metered parking lot next to the cable car station.

By train: ride to Sattel station, then 5 min walk to the gondola

Timetable

Summer season is mid April to October.

The gondola runs daily from 8:30 - 17:00. Open until 17:30 from July to October.

Note that the amusements don't open until 10:30.

Tickets

You can buy tickets just for the gondola or a Day Pass, which includes the gondola, access to the bouncy castles, and unlimited rides on the summer toboggan and tubing track.

For kids, we usually get the Day Pass.

For parents, we usually just buy the gondola return trip. Then separately buy a couple rides on the toboggan. This is much less expensive than an adult day pass.

Slight discount on the gondola with the Swiss Travel Pass and Swiss Half Fare Card. Gondola free with Lucerne Tell Pass.
