Engstligenalp is a high alpine valley easily reached by cable car. As you ride up, you'll have a fantastic view of the 2nd highest waterfall in Switzerland at 600m tall. When you reach the top, you can wander the wide flat alpine valley surrounded by impressive peaks.

Trail Option 1

There is an easy obstacle-free trail around the valley, possible with strollers. It also has activities for kids to keep them motivated. Learn more about this trail

Trail Option 2

For a more mountainous ramble, you can branch off the valley trail and head towards the peaks, passing through alpine meadows filled with wildflowers in July. Learn more about this trail

Trail Option 3

If you want to get close to the falls, you can hike from the parking/bus stop about 40mins to a viewpoint very close to the roaring water - see trail map. You can go back the way you came or hike all the way up to Engstligenalp and ride the cable car down.
