The Klöntalersee is a big alpine lake surrounded by mountains, a lovely place for a picnic and leisurely walk. In fall, the trees turn all sorts of bright colors, which are particularly picturesque reflected in the water with the mountain peaks.

We usually just do a short walk from the parking or bus stop until we find a nice picnic spot. Then we build a fire to keep warm since it's always in the shade in October. If you want to hike, you can ride the bus to the far side of the lake and hike back on the forested path along the water. We love that too, but it's quite cold and frosty in October, so bundle up.
