This trail visits several large meadows that fill with crocus blooms in mid April to early May.
Trail: 2h • 6.7 km loop • 345m up & down
See trail map on SchweizMobil • Komoot
When the crocus are blooming, the mountain lifts aren't running. So you must hike up from the Braunwald alpine village to Grötzenbüel, where the main crocus fields are. We suggest starting with a wander up thru the alpine village, the looping over to Grötzenbüel.
Just before you reach the Grötzenbüel station you'll find large crocus fields here.
After the Grötzenbüel station, you'll find even bigger crocus fields off-trail here, here, and here. Just wander carefully on the ski slope area to enjoy the crocuses.
Then join the actual trail and wander back down to Grötzenbüel.
Summer? If you are visiting in summer, we suggest the Braunwald Panorama Trail or Hike to Oberblegisee Lake.
