We had a delightful stay in a 1BR apartment from Hausroc Zermatt on the north side of the village. Our favorite part was the wonderful views of the Matterhorn from the balcony, where we enjoyed our breakfast every morning.

The apartment was cozy but comfortable for our family of four, with our boys sleeping on the pull-out couch in the living room for our kids. The kitchen was well equipped, making it easy to prepare some of our meals at home, This saved quite a bit of money and was much easier than keeping our kids entertained during a long restaurant meal.

The apartment is a 5 min walk from the Sunnegga funicular, 10 min walk from the main Zermatt train station and Gornergrat mountain train. It's a 5 min walk from a bus stop that takes you to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise gondola station.

Even though it's a relatively short walk, I would suggest using a taxi from the train station to the apartment on your arrival and departure if you have a lot of luggage or small kids.
