This cable car travels between Stechelberg and Gimmelwald, where you can change to a second cable car and continue the journey to Mürren.

Note: Unless you are visiting Gimmelwald, you should instead ride the newer cable car that travels directly between Stechelberg and Mürren.

How to get there

This cable car starts in Stechelberg, in the same station as the Schithorn cable car to Mürren. When inside the station, make sure to follow the "Gimmelwald" signs, not "Mürren / Piz Gloria"

By public transport: From the Lauterbrunnen train station, a bus runs every 30 mins to the Stechelberg (Schilthornbahn) stop, a 14 min journey.

By car: There is a large metered parking lot next to the Stechelberg cable car station, about 10 min drive from Lauterbrunnen. See location on map.

This cable car (Stechelberg - Gimmelwald) start running around 6am and run until almost midnight. They run every 30 mins until 8pm, then every hour. See current timetables.
